Great part of the day...............

I am a working mom with a "stay at home" heart.........Now, I will be frank, I am not really sure I would be very good at staying home with my kids......I THINK I would, but I don't really know. Would I be bored? Would I be creative with them? Would they wish they were at school with friends?? No idea and not an option right now so part of my day that I love is when I pick them up from school...............And I love to hear the answers they give when I ask........"How was your day?"

Here's how it went last night...........

Emme, How was school today??

Mommy, the school was on fire................

Really? I am pretty sure I would have heard if the school was on fire!

NO Mommy, Really!! Ms. Julie and Ms. April even took us outside.......But we had to stay in a line............

Oh, it was a Fire Drill!!

YES!! A fire drill..........And tomorrow we're having a Tomato Drill!!

Oh, you got to love it............I know these little innocent conversations will be short lived and I treasure each and every one........And of course I called Ci Ci (owner of daycare and close friend) to tell her about the school being on fire and the upcoming "tomato" drill!! HILARIOUS!

At a loss for words..............

As I was loading the kids in the car to head off to school, Emme pointed and said "look mommy, those cats are fighting........."

I look over...............Uh Oh, that ain't no fighting...................

As I try desperately to get them into the car, strapped in and speed off, I just start laughing.......The more I laughed, the more they laughed & the louder the "FIGHTING" was getting.......Have mercy, please God help me get them into this car!!

Ok, so I am really not ready for that "sex education" chat.....and especially ANIMAL sex education......NO WAY........NO HOW.........

Well, looks like we'll be seeing some new kittens running around here in the not too distant future!!

Dreams really DO come true....................

We surprised 4 little princesses with a trip of a lifetime..................These 4 little princesses were picked up early from school on Thursday to go for a "playdate"............ Little did they know that within 2 hours they would be on an airplane flying to DISNEY!! I know, you are wondering what would possess us Moms to take 4 almost four year olds to Disney??? Because there is simply nothing better than the high pitched screaming that you hear when Cinderella herself comes right up for a hug.....................Ok, maybe there are alot of things better than that but you get my point!!

And it all started with a box........................

With more boxes inside of boxes.....................

All filled with little hints as to where we might be headed............A Minnie Mouse shirt, a Princess Carriage shirt, something for each day we are there............

And ending with a beautiful poem...............

Once Upon A Time…

There were Four Beautiful Little Girls…

All the very best of friends…

Would you like to know how this story unfurls?

These special girls were

nearly four years old

with a love of all things

princess and Disney

we had been told.

Caroline’s birthday approached

their hearts all fluttered,

their hopes all afloat.

What does this all mean?

They asked with a Stare?

All of their arms

thrown up in the air…

Well – Happy Birthday,

Dear Caroline.

This time the surprise is

ALL mine.

So we hope you’ve enjoyed all this rhythm and rhyme.

You and your friends

must grab your bags

Run off to the airport,

throw up the flag.

We leave today,

in fact very soon,

Up in the sky,

almost to the moon

Get in your tutus …

give them a twirl…

You and your friends are going to

DISNEY WORLD.

Now 359 pictures later, we truly had a blast!! I couldn't figure out how to do a slide show so I tried to do a collage to help consolidate some of the pics...............

We went to Magic Kingdom on Friday and Epcot on Saturday.........All fantastic!! We traveled with a true Disney professional (Thank you, Laura) so we didn't need a map, the plan was set! We laughed, we yelled, we cried and we smiled............And the classic line from almost every stranger????............Are they triplets????? Hello People! There are FOUR of them!! Anyway, we certainly got lots of stares and could have sold their cute shirts thousands of times.....Note to self, job opportunity.............

And after two wonderful days at Disney it was time to go home...............However, the weather added a bit of delay to that plan.............6 hours to be exact....................Good thing they sold beer.........

But the girls were good.................

OOOPS, looks like we brought a princess home with us.........That's right, our little Tiana......from The princess & The frog............

It truly was a blast...........I count my blessings and treasure these memories..........Sure there was some fighting and a few time outs....................but overall, the Moms were great..........I mean the girls were great.............I have always marveled at their different personalities and different styles, but isn't that what makes the world go 'round?

I missed my boys at home but I am not sure they missed us!! And my sweet little boy was sound asleep when we got home but I just couldn't help from rubbing that little hiney tucked up straight in the air..............

Is it too early to start planning the next trip???

Thank you Hubby!! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to go and for keeping things safe and sound on the home front ............. We couldn't have done it without you..........Can't wait to take our trip together..........one day!!

How was your weekend???

Ours was GREAT!!

Don't you wonder where we went???

Stay tuned........................

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Over the weekend, we went to Newnan to visit our friends The Welden's.............Although it was pouring, we had lots of fun playing with new toys and eating pizza...............While the adults were enjoying themselves, and the younger ones were playing chase through the house, we finally noticed we were missing our two older kids.......As we began hunting for them, this is what we found................

Looks pretty innocent, right? Two 4 year olds in a closet?

Giggling hysterically.........
One of them missing their pants..........

And the contents of the closet spread all over the floor........They were just sorting, right? HA!!! Fun times with great friends......

So far, this 2010 has been GREAT!!

Ridiculous.............

Ridiculous.........That is the word my sweet, sweet baby girl said to me as the battle of what to wear progressed to all out war............

"I want to wear a short sleeved dress that twirls, Mommy!"

Ok, baby girl how about we wear this one........We just have to wear a shirt underneath it to keep you warm.........

"But I don't want to wear a shirt underneath, I will be too hot!!"

Sweetie, it is freezing outside, I really don't think you need to worry about being hot....

"BUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTT If you make me wear that shirt it will be RIDICULOUS!!!"

What did you just say?

"Mommy, that will be ridiculous"

I sat there dumbfounded..........Is the word Ridiculous really in a 4 year olds vocabulary......

Apparently..............

Here is just a cute picture, because what fun is a post without a picture, right?

Future Fashionista...............

Baby girl has really come into her own in 2010..............She is now VERY confident in EXACTLY what she will be wearing daily..........I have loved dressing my baby girl for the last four years.........Loved every second of it......Every pink bow.......Every smocked dress...........Every monogram.......Had I known how quickly that would stop, maybe I could have savored it a little longer...........but alas, I am now blessed with a beautiful little girl with an interesting sense of style. Each day must begin with a short sleeved dress that must twirl. Then tights of any color or design. Then special "clicky" shoes. no matter the color. Then the layering process begins. We add a sweater. Then a coat. Then a hat. Then gloves. Then Sunglasses..........

I have occassionally been able to slip in a "Well, Ms. Julie really wants you to wear pants today since you might go outside" or "Your best friends are all wearing skirts today so why don't we match them and wear this!" Ok, I am very aware that this isn't going to last long. But since her closet is full of very cute clothes that are NOT all "short sleeved dresses that twirl"..........what is a mom to do?!?

Smile..............Smile as we get to school and laugh as she begins the removal process..........One lovely item at a time.............

SNOW DAY!!!

As everyone knows, we had some snow 'round these parts.............And while most of the kids enjoyed their day off from school and bundled up to play in the snow.............My kids wanted to go SWIMMING........So, when it is in the middle of winter and we don't own a hot tub, we swim in the bath tub!!

Bathing suits and all...............

And while daddy played lifeguard, I spent the day taking down the Christmas tree.......yes, that's right folks, it was still up....

Final Christmas pics.....maybe.....

Here were some from Christmas day...........The good thing about visiting Orlando, is how well we are fed...........They are all excellent cooks and keep the yummy treats flowing.......Even if it means spending most of the time in the kitchen!!

And then we stayed for several more days enjoying all of the cool toys that the cousins have !!

I know we all will cherish these memories forever and having families now, it's always a challenge to get together. We talked about the last time the hubby and his sister were together at the holidays and we think it was 7 years ago............That is a long time! Anyway, I thought I did a better job at picture taking but am hoping my MIL will mail me some of hers.........She's the expert and will have a lot more group shots.....We had many blessings this season and the kids may not remember them when they are older, but I know we always will......

Christmas in Orlando 2009......Part 2...

My sweet baby girl was born a month early on Christmas eve......2005.......at 11:28pm weighing 6lbs 1ounce and was 19 1/2 inches long......That's right.......a month early..........I was having a January baby............but SURPRISE!! So, Aunt Shelley had us a special birthday cake for our little princess......I can't believe she is 4 years old!!

And boy did she love it!! She is a bit fond of attention :)

Girl loves her some icing.......Another trait she gets from her father.....Good news for her is that she also has her fathers metabolism!!

And the best birthday present ever was the box of princess dress up clothes!! For someone who only has boys, Aunt Shelley did a great job on that present!!

Christmas in Orlando 2009......PART 1...

Boy, were they happy to be out of the car !!! Also, cute outfits compliments of Tinsley's Closet........ Now, we usually stay close to home for the Holidays, but this year we mixed it up a little. They hubby's family were gathering in Orlando, so off we went. We left bright and early (a ridiculous 4:30am) and arrived by lunch time........The kids did great, other than 16 movie changes, one soaked through diaper, and a cheerio spill !!
We had lots of sharing..............jelly beans, of course..............

Lots of smiling..................
And plenty of swinging...............
