Drumroll please......................................

It's OFFICIAL!...............I survived Bootcamp!!

And the stats are...................
4 weeks ago yesterday, I did 15 "army" style pushups and 30 girly style (on the knees) in 1 minute.........
Last night, I did 33 "army" style pushups and 12 girly style in 1 minute!!!

4 weeks ago yesterday, I did 16 situps in 1 minute.......Yes, I know that is awful, but you have your abdomen stretched to max capacity twice and tell me how many you can do!! ok, I am kidding, I don't really want to know!!
Last night, I did 25 situps in 1 minute!!

I even shaved off 2 minutes on my time for running a mile, bringing it to 11:44!!

Now, I honestly can't say that I notice a difference physically, but it was fantastic having friends tell me how "skinny" I looked Sunday at the fall festival.........I even wore my skinny jeans!! Now, between you and me, they were my new larger sized skinny jeans, but WHO CARES, right????!! AAAHHHHHHHH, aren't friends great!!

Now, to do or not to do...........again, that is a good question!!

Bring a friend day.................

Do you want to be my friend?

So on Tuesday, it is "bring a friend" day to Bootcamp. I tried to explain to the instructor that it wouldn't really be a very "friendly" thing to do to someone. She laughed...............So anyway, If anyone would like to join me for a little game of HELL on tuesday, class is at 6pm!! happy happy joy joy, bring it on FRIENDS...............DON'T BE SCARED!!!

If I can do you it, so can you!!!

Do you know...................................

What cancels Bootcamp????????????

Hail

or

Lightning

Seriously? Really? That's it??? yep, that's it...............................

So, Week Two is done..........I was told I would see a difference physically after week two.

I don't

However, I haven't died yet, and I haven't completely face planted into the dirt yet, either.

I am sure we look like quite the sight..........Drenched, whether in sweat or rain, doing jumping jacks, relay races, lunges, stretches, spider crawls, etc. Oh yes, they have quite the the array of torture positions. Down dog? yes, we do that one too! What is it? No idea, my mind has blocked the memory.....................

Halfway there, right???????

right......................

Week One down...................another week begins

So, I survived week ONE of Bootcamp! Not sure my body did, but my mind did!
I am even working on a better attitude.........really, I am!!
Can't see any physical change just yet but I am optimistic a month of hell will at least result in some weight loss................

The trainer is real sweet...........Especially when she sends "motivational" emails just as that tiny little hershey's kiss was about to go into the mouth............Damn her

And Damn to my ageing metabolism...........

Last Thursday, she brought out the jump ropes..........that's right, jump ropes. Now, I am not sure about you, but it had been awhile since I had jumped rope. And I am pretty sure that my coordination has decreased a bit since my "double dutch" days.........And add on top of that, the fact that my body was completely rebelling from various "lung" or "squat" activities..........Hilarious....................as minute by minute ticked by.................I could barely get my "jump" up high enough off the ground for the "rope" to make it...........poor rope.........poor me.......

Oh and did you know, that 80% of NEW bootcampers re sign for more............really? really? hmmmmm, guess we'll see. Of course, as sweet as the hubby has been for picking up the dinner slack, I'm afraid that Daddy daycare might just close after this month.................

ok, week two, here I come!

Volunteers needed, please!

Can someone help me..............
I need to get out of bed, but my legs aren't working!
I need to wash my hair, but my arms simply won't go up!
And apparently, childbirth has removed all stomach muscles that I swear were once there!!

So tonight will be day 3 of this Bootcamp thing!

Day One consisted of an "orientation".............well, that orientation pretty much kicked my ass! I ran a 13.50 minute mile.......BUT----------I ran the whole way!
I did situps and pushups in a minute.................We sprinted and lunged and added some jumping jacks. Sounds easy, huh?

Day Two consisted of ripping apart all of my abdomen and rolling around in the mud. Apparently, I did not complete our fiber and protein "intake" form correctly which resulted in "extra credit". Now, growing up, I always strived for extra credit...........Well, this "extra credit" was 5 additional minutes of pure torture.

We (that would be my friend and I) had to crawl on all fours up an incline and then crawl backwards back to the starting point...............So, as my wet ass was jacked up toward the sky, I began questioning the logic in all of this. I began to analyze where $199 could have been spent elsewhere. I stared at the teenagers playing volleyball with there tight little butts. Not a good attitude? probably not.

So instead of continuing on to tennis practice, I slipped behind the wheel and cruised to Wendy's. I was STARVING!
Now, I will admit that never in my life have I ever had to look at a label, count a calorie or actually think about what I was eating until Big Papa came into my life. So, as my mom says, I should count my blessings for that.........Be proud that it has taken this many years for my metabolism to come to a complete halt.
As I stared at the menu through the drive through, I began to wonder what it would hurt to just have one small order of fries and a little bity tiny frosty. Don't worry, I left with a fabulous grilled chicken salad. YUMMY..........really, who would want fries and a frosty when a yummy grilled chicken salad awaited them, right?

Ok, I need a better attitude. I really am gonna enjoy the end result. And I enjoy being active and outside and I can do anything for a month, right?

So, Today, I wonder what body part will be tortured..........................

WHAT WAS I THINKING???????????????????

Seriously, I may have completely lost my mind..................

I signed up for "The Bootcamp" at the park near my house. What is "The Bootcamp"? you might ask, well, I don't really know. Except that I think I am going to get my ass kicked. It will probably go something like this.............

4 days a week I will "attempt" to meet trainers at the park

4 days a week they will discuss my "nutrition"

4 days a week they will put my body through living hell

4 days a week I will ask myself "what was I thinking?"

So, although I should save "prayer requests" for truly meaningful reasons, I am asking you all to say a small prayer that I will not only live through this 4 week Bootcamp, but that my ass might grow a little smaller in doing so :)

Tonight is night 1.................tomorrow, if I can type, I will give you a status !
